New Website Up and Running!

Hi all,

I will be slowly phasing out this blog in favour of my new official site kirshy.com

This will also replace both freefallcomics.com and my etsy store. In addition to portfolio, updates, news on upcoming appearances and an online store, I will also be launching on this site monthly Sketch Featurettes (starting Jan. 15) which will give an insight into my creative process over the years, Art Tips (bi-weekly, starting Jan. 31) and a new web comic series (TBA).

Hope you enjoy!

Sincerely,

Shane Kirshenblatt

Grave Conditions

Very recently, I have had the honour and privilege of illustrating a short but thrilling tale called "Burying Betsy," penned by highly acclaimed horror author Brian Keene. This is the headliner story for a 32 page digi-comic anthology called Grave Conditions #1 and is available for download from Haunted Computer Books for only 99 cents!

There are 3 issues available altogether and each one features good old fashioned horror in the tradition of Tales from the Crypt, showcasing notable writers (Brian Keene, Stephen Susco, William Harms, Lavie Tidhar, Jonathan Maberry) and artists (Chad Blevins, Italo Ahumada, Sergio Castro, Yours Truly) with original graphic stories that will chill your blood and bend your mind!

The Grave Conditions paperback edition collects all three issues PLUS a bonus 12-page story in one! Pre-order now for only $9.95 (plus $3 shipping)

Original Artwork 2008

"Novelty"
Shane Kirshenblatt 2008
Acrylic on Canvas. 16" x 20"
This received mixed reactions when I displayed it at my last art show. Some people got it, others got frightened by it. I was relieved to finally get it out of my system, having been sitting on the idea for almost 3 years now. If humans manufacture rubber chickens, then isn't only fair for chickens to capitalize on rubber humans?

"Hagic Hour"
Shane Kirshenblatt. 2008
Acrylic on Canvas. 16" x 20"

Pretty much a whim and a piece wholly parallel to "The Sacrifice," this was actually inspired by a nature walk I took with friends about two years ago. No, I didn't see this actually happening but I thought that nature could be enjoying it self when no one is looking.
